In
1950, Mr. Ad Ebrum Deville retired from the City of Miami Fire
Department. At that time there were no fire equipment
companies in the city. Mr. A.E. Deville opened Miami Fire
Equipment in a rented building on Flagler St. near 27th
Ave. After 2 years, growth dictated the establishment of a
new building around the corner at 150 S.W. 27th Ave.
(present location). This new building and adjacent parking
provided the opportunity for further growth. Mr. A.E.
Deville ran the business along with his wife Etta Josephine for
15 years. |
 |
During
that time Miami Fire grew from a small one truck extinguisher
service entity to a substantial fire and safety company.
In 1965, Philip Ray Deville acquired the company and continued
to build the business. The service and installation of
restaurant kitchen hood systems provided expanding
opportunities. The latest equipment in extinguisher
service technology was installed as a modern facility emerged. |
 |
In
continuing with this tradition Valerie and Derek Deville, the
children of Philip Deville, are preparing to carry the company
into its 50th year and a new millenium. Clean agent fire
suppression systems have provided continuing challenges and
opportunities. Striving to bring Miami Fire to the top of
the industry, the continued modernization of servicing
facilities and accounting have yielded quality service that can
be offered at a competitive price. |
